I just contacted Nissan customer services which is based in Paris (at least for some European countries) to ask if a map update was available for my 2014 J11 navigation system. Nissan has to pay at Navteq for maps yearly and to Bosch for coding them to the unit. That's why Nissan ask money for up-dates. Up-dates are once a year for this unit. I don't know about US maps, but best Europe maps are made by Navteq. I have a 2013 Nissan Altima with Navigation. I currently have the 2015 maps installed in my car. I just purchased the 2018 map update. When I insert the new SD card, the card is recognized as a Nissan Card but I am not prompted to perform the update. Has any of you experienced this issue?
